This letter was submitted to the Northfield News in opposition to the racetrack project.  See Letter to the Editor Northfield News (8).

This comment letter was sent to Rice County during the EAW comment period.  The letter is critical of the EAW and requests that a more throrough, detailed EIS be performed.  See Comment Letter Noise (13)

A similar exclusive, members only racing club in California has been in operation for several years and did not attract homes or business to the area as the county has hoped.  See Thermal Story (12).  

I can pay for their sewer and roads, but I am not welcome inside the walls unless I have two hundred grand for membership and nearly a million for a villa --- whatever a villa is.  

Why were the EAW studies by the developer's consultant so incomplete and inaccurate?  The omissions and errors will force the hand of the Board to require an EIS.  

The developer has not addressed the well being  of animals either within or outside the walls.  Animals have significantly greater noise sensitivities than humans and will be harmed by anticipated noise levels.  

I fill my propane tank, empty my septic tank, fill my car’s gasoline tank, maintain my well, and spend lots of time on the road commuting, running errands, and chauffeuring children. I embrace this inconvenience and expense because it buys my peace and privacy --- the reason I moved to the country. Commerce will come. I understand that; however, let’s make sure it is safe, healthy, and adds to the tax base rather than an intrusive, damaging "club" that drains tax dollars. Why invite a blight?
